ECCLIFFE (Mill and upstream)

Brief description of fishery:

This short section of river runs from the bottom end of the Common Mead Lane stretch through to Eccliffe Mill pool. It includes Watersmeet where the river Lodden joins the Stour.

This stretch is rarely match fished, although the club have recently developed 5/6 swims through its work parties,  between Watersmeet (where the river Lodden enters the Stour) and the mill. The Mill itself has a further 2 swims. This stretch has some great looking swims. It is generally a shallow stretch with some gravel runs. This section holds a good head of Chub, Roach, Dace, Perch, with some Grayling and Trout.

Please note. Fishing in the mill pool is from the bank only, not from the island.
