CATHOLICS
Brief description of fishery:
This section is probably our most prolific stretch of river, producing Chub throughout the season. Noted pegs are peg 45 ‘big hole’ peg 47 ‘telegraph’ and peg 50 ‘swimming pool.
Usually carrying a big of pace to run a stick float through, this is how most the Chub are caught (averaging 2lbs). This way you will still catch the Roach and Dace that are in many swims. Maggot, caster and bread punch all catch on their day but don’t be frightened to fish bread flake as this will catch when other basis won’t.
